Happy first day of FALL! I can already see the leaves changing colors to yellow, orange, and red. The moon rises earlier, the crisp air allows you to finally open up your windows. It is the time of year that you can enjoy changing into your jammies a little earlier and snuggling up on the couch with your littles. What also comes with the change of season? Colds and flu, especially for our children. They are back in school, indoors more and their bodies are still figuring out how to fight all those germs.
I am the type of momma that enjoys diffusing oil in the house to ward off airborne bugs and washes hands. I try to stay clear from hand sanitizer as research is starting to show too much can affect are microbiome and interrupt our beneficial flora on our skin. Also, being that food and nutrition is my thing, I try to up her vitamin C, with oranges, and gummies. Say what?! Yes, gummies. I feel like I came across a magical unicorn, when I was first introduced to these by a sweet friend.
You see, not everyone can eat a perfect diet and get all the nutrients your body needs to thrive day to day. The USDA recommends between 5-13 servings of fruit and vegetables per day. Servings vary on the fruit or vegetable. For example, 1 small apple is a serving vs. 1/2C cooked squash is a serving. How many have you had today?
When I was first introduced to these plant concentrates I figured I was already doing all that I could do for myself and my baby nutritionally. I cooked mainly at home, had my green smoothie every morning, and even juiced at home. My recommendation to clients is always supplement with whole foods first, and then if that does not work, lets try something else. Before, these plant concentrates, I did however, take a multivitamin, and I thought I was doing my body a service. Let me tell you, nutrition is still new to a lot of us, and updated research is coming out all the time, and multivitamins are in the past. Multivitamins are a synthetic form of a vitamin, and artificially processed. When my friend said that I could ditch my multivitamin, and that my daughter would be free, I couldn’t say no. It is possible to bridge the gap of nutrition with whole food plant concentrates, and it is affordable. This is what we take every single day. It is not a vitamin, it is 30 + different whole foods, grown in the best soil, and picked at their peak of ripeness.
The company is pretty awesome in that they are driven to making families healthy. Children are free because the company has an ongoing study to prove why fruits and vegetables are beneficial to our children’s health. Also, if you are into clinical research they have that too. For example, from the family study, it shows that 60% of children were missing fewer days of school, 61% were eating more fruits and vegetables, 66% were visiting the doctor less , 71% were drinking more water and 89% were more aware of their health!
We as moms want the best for our children, and nutrition can be HARD. Shoot I am a foodie and a nutritionist and I struggle. However, knowing that Georgia is receiving these little gems everyday, makes me one happy momma. They say toddlers are picky eaters, but they are just learning, we all are. It is up to the parents to make sure we guide them in the right way when it comes to food, so that they can make healthy choices for themselves in the future. Also, kids thrive, run, play, and grow much better with adequate nutrients. If you have a picky eater who does not eat their vegetables or they get sick easily, click on my link below to get more information. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Lets enjoy this Fall season sick free and full of fun!
